Cancellation and Scheduling
What if none of your scheduled calendar times work for me?
Please don’t hesitate to reach out! If your schedule doesn't align with our current calendar availability, send us an email or use our contact form to let us know your preferred days and times. While we can't guarantee every request, we are always happy to check our studio schedule and see if we can work something out to accommodate you.
What is your cancellation and rescheduling policy?
We understand that plans change! You can cancel or reschedule your lesson up to 7 days prior to your scheduled date for a full refund. Because we pre-purchase lesson supplies and secure private studio time blocks at The LOOM Coworking Space in advance, cancellations made within 7 days of your class will incur a $50 booking fee to cover these non-recoverable overhead costs. The remaining balance of your lesson fee will be fully refunded to your original payment method.
What happens if we need to reschedule?
Life happens, and occasionally unexpected things come up on our end, too! If we ever need to cancel or reschedule your lesson due to an emergency or studio scheduling conflict, we will notify you as soon as possible. In these rare instances, you will have the choice of rescheduling at no extra charge or receiving a 100% full refund.

Class Details & Guidelines
Do I need to buy a sewing machine before my first lesson?
No, you can use a studio sewing machine during your lesson at no extra charge. If you already have your own, we highly recommend bringing it so you can get comfortable with its specific functionality.
What is the age requirement for these lessons?
Our private and semi-private sewing lessons are structured specifically for adults 18 years of age and older. Our studio setup, tools, and pacing are designed with adult learners in mind, making it the perfect environment to learn a new creative hobby at your own pace!
What kind of projects will we make?
For beginner-level lessons, we focus on high-reward, simple projects with straight lines that can comfortably be completed from start to finish within our 2-hour timeframe. Our favorite one-session starter projects include everyday tote bags, envelope throw pillow covers, reversible aprons, and lined drawstring pouches. You’ll leave class with a beautiful, finished piece!
Have some experience or a larger goal?Your project doesn't have to be completed in one sitting! If you are a sewist with a bit of experience looking to expand your skills, you are welcome to bring a more complex pattern or garment project and spread the work across multiple booked classes. We will pace the lessons to give you continuous support through the tricky cutting, fitting, and construction stages.
(Note for Semi-Private Bookings: If you are booking a lesson for two, we just ask that both students select the same type of project so we can keep our machines and cutting layout paces perfectly in sync!)
Do I need to buy fabric before my first lesson?
Not yet! Once you book your slot, look out for my welcome email. We will discuss your goals first, and then I will send you a small, beginner-friendly shopping list with the exact yardage, thread, and fabric types needed for your chosen starter project.
Machine and Tools
I'm bringing my own machine. What accessories do I need to pack?
Please ensure you bring:
- Your power cord and foot pedal
- A standard presser foot (plus any specialized presser feet needed for your project, like a zipper foot)
- The instruction manual if you have it
Tip: If you have extra bobbins or needles that came with your machine, toss those in your bag too!
What specific tools do I need to bring with me?
Just yourself and your machine (if you are bringing one)! I provide all the professional studio equipment for you to use during class, including fabric shears, rotary cutters, cutting mats, pins, measuring tapes, rulers, marking pens, and an iron/ironing board.
